I like to think of food in a cosmic sense. It is part of the big picture, the Universe. Deciding what to eat and the best time to eat should not be determined by advertisements or emotional urges. For best health, nutrition decisions must be based on natural seasons. As with everything else alive on this planet, our bodies require different support throughout the year, according to the Indian Ayurvedic philosophy.
My ultimate goal for teaching Indian cooking classes in Fort Collins is to guide students toward eating for a long and healthy life, as a part of healing from the inside. Lifestyle choices lead to feelings of imbalance, both physically and psychologically. Eating natural fresh foods that are prepared with an eye for the Ayurvedic elements can return a body to balance. For my clients, change in their approach to diet supplements the effect of the Universal White Time Gemstone energy healing.
There are both pure vegetarian and meat-based dishes in every Vibrant Indian Cooking teaching series, as well as wines that pair beautifully with Indian cuisine. Some of my favorite ingredients to work with are lentils (especially sprouted), fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, spices, yogurt, fresh herbs, and organic meats.
Below is a short promotional video interview, created during a cooking class, where I provide a brief introduction to my Ayurveda-rooted cooking philosophy.
